Palantir: Winner in Business Intelligence Market Study

The latest edition of the Dresner Wisdom of Crowds BI Flagship Market Study totals 200 pages including topics such as data leadership, data literacy, and business intelligence. The study evaluates 28 different suppliers and grades them on extensive vendor ratings.

Palantir was rated #1.

Other companies that were included in the study were SnowFlake, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and many more.

According to the Chief Research Officer of the study, "in its first year of coverage, Palantir is generally above the overall sample for all categories of measurement and is an overall leader in both Customer Experience and Vendor Credibility models. It is best in class for product scalability and consulting professionalism and has a perfect recommend score."

Although Palantir was named the overall leader in the Dresner Wisdom of Crowds BI Market Study, much more can be taken away from the 200-page study.

Analysts uncovered that better decision-making is the top objective in business intelligence. Efficiency/cost and revenue goals are the next most important. The goal of Palantir is to build software that empowers organizations to effectively integrate their data, decisions, and operations.

Analysis & Trends

In the detailed YoY view of changes in attitudes towards BI (Business Intelligence) objectives, the greatest percentage increase was in compliance/risk management and enhanced customer services, which grew in importance by 7 and 6 percent, respectively.

Another instructive view of market growth for BI is shown in the trend above. BI penetration during the last 7 years follows an easily seen trend line stretching from 29% in 2015 to the greater than 40% we see today.

Besides giving Palantir investors confirmation that Palantir software is top-notch, the Wisdom of Crowds research report offers great insight on how their future "competitors" software is today and the current/future business intelligence market is developing. I encourage all investors to skim through the 200-page report and see how Palantir's scores compare to Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and others.
